Dear Altar Server Guild,

Here is what's going on this week.

There is an additional rehearsal for the Vigil Mass on Saturday morning

All those who are able, please attend.

Holy Thursday April 1

 Rehearsal for Mass of Lords Supper-5:00pm

 Mass of the Lords Supper- 7:30 pm

 Pass out Triduum Booklets

 Communion under Both Species begins through Corpus Christi, June 6

 Pass out candles

 Procession transferring Blessed Sacrament to the Altar of Repose in Parish Hall

 Collect candles and booklets

 

Good Friday, April 2

 Rehearsal for Lords Passion- 10:00am

 Outside Stations of the Cross- 12:00 noon

 Pass out Triduum Booklets

 Chaplet of Devine Mercy-2:30 pm

 Solemn Liturgy of the Lord's Passion- 3:00 pm

 Pick up booklets

 Stations of the Cross- 7:30 pm

 Uncover all statues, and the Crucifix after Stations of the Cross

 Bring tub used Saturday into the Church after Stations of the Cross

 

Holy Saturday/ Easter Vigil- April 3

 RCIA Preparation Rites- 8:30 am 

 Rehearsal for Altar Servers and RCIA- Liturgy of Baptism- 9:00 am

 Help with putting the flowers around the Altar

 Preparation of Church for Easter, see attachment 2 from agenda of last meeting

 Pass out Triduum Booklets

 Easter Vigil- 8:00 pm, no 5:00pm or 7:00 pm Masses

  Pass out candles

  Lighting of the Fire and Blessing of the Candle outside

  Liturgy of Baptism, Rite of Reception, Rite of Confirmation

 Collect candles and booklets

 Put missalettes and music books back in Church after Service

 Bring candle holders/stands back into the Church, put candles back into them after service

Dress Code for Altar Servers

 

The dress code focuses around that which can be seen under the cassocks. Altar servers do not want to draw attention to themselves.

 

Shoes are most important –

Shoes should be closed toed dark dress or school uniform type.

No flip flops, no crocs, no lighted shoes, no running shoes, etc.

 

Socks (if worn) should be dark .

 

Wear dark slacks or pants. No blue jeans.
