CANDIDATES FOR ST. MARY’S PASTORAL COUNCIL

2009-2010 ELECTION

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ELECTION

In order to be eligible for election or appointment to a voting position on the Council, a person must be a practicing Catholic, a registered member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, and at least eighteen (18) years of age.

 

 

 

NOEL A’HEARN

 

 

A St. Mary of the Assumption parishioner since 2005, Noel A‘Hearn has played an active part within the Parish with his wife Christine, and his children Liam (7) and Clare (5). He presently serves as an instructor for St. Mary’s Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Mr. A’Hearn says he looks forward to sharing more of his time and talents with the Parish Family. He pledges to take action supporting spiritual enrichment programs and will put his keen organization skills to work on the Parish’s operational challenges.

 

 

BETH BURCH

 

 

A St. Mary of the Assumption parishioner since 1992, Beth Burch is active in St. Mary’s music ministry with both the Contemporary and Traditional Choirs. Mrs. Burch works full time as a management consultant, specializing in process improvement. She and her husband, Jim, are raising two 18-month old yellow labs that keep them pretty busy, as well as entertained. In her spare time, Mrs. Burch says she enjoys knitting, singing, and baking (especially cakes!).

 

 

JOSEPHINE CLAY

 

 

An active parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption, Josephine Clay was elected to serve a two-year term on the Pastoral Council in 2007. During her first term in office, Mrs. Clay has served with distinction as the Pastoral Council’s Secretary. She also plays an active part in the St. Mary’s school community with her husband Orin, and her children Belinda and Richard. Mrs. Clay is eligible to run for a second, consecutive two-year term on the Pastoral Council.

 

 

DEBORAH JONES

 

 

An active parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption since 2002, Deborah Jones currently serves on the St. Mary’s Hospitality Committee. She previously served as a member of the parish chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. A graduate of Old Dominion University with a degree in early childhood care, Mrs. Jones works part-time as a day care/pre-school aide. She is also an active volunteer in the St. Mary’s school community, with her husband John, and her daughter Natalie (Gr. 5).
