St. Mary of the Assumption Council #9302 Every Knight of Columbus is an integral part of the world’s largest and most dynamic Catholic fraternal organization. It is united with more than 1.6 million brothers and their families. Involvement as a Knight will provide opportunities, in charity and fraternity, to serve the local church at St. Mary’s, as well as on the diocesan and world-wide levels. A Knight also serves the community and the less fortunate. Members enjoy a sense of "belonging" in an organization that shares religious beliefs, and brings together men joined in a common cause. We offer many family, youth, community, church, and council activities. We give special parish dinners and breakfasts, picnics, march for life, assist our young people, sponsor the Red Cross drive, conduct the Tootsie Roll Program for God’s special children, participate in Marlborough Day, collect clothes for the needy, help maintain shelters, etc. We are an award winning Star Council whose principles center upon CHARITY, UNITY, FRATERNITY, and PATRIOTISM. Along with our Ladies’ Auxiliary, we also have fun together with dances, socials, and other get-togethers, the trip to Atlantic City, etc. We have one of the finest insurance programs in the nation, (with some benefits automatic with membership), securing ourselves and our families. Join us! We need each other! Members of another Council, former members and those interested in becoming members are welcome. Pope John Paul II has said, "The Knights are the right hand of the Church!" Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary: This women’s organization collaborates with the Knights of Columbus in spiritual, social, charitable, and monetary ways. The Auxiliary was instituted at St. Mary’s on January 15, 1990. Past activities have included a Baby Shower for the Crisis Pregnancy Center, Bake Sales, participation at the annual Craft fair, and coordinating the Mass for the Sick. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month in the Parish Hall. Membership is open to any wife, widow, sister, daughter, mother, or mother-in-law of a Knight of Columbus. Members must be 28 years or older, but need not be Catholic. The annual dues are $10.00. Please call Barbara Smith at (301-868-1919).
