REGARDING THE LITURGY Adoration Society: This informal group seeks to foster devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. They keep a list of people needing urgent prayer and recruit volunteers to cover the hours of adoration on Tuesday. Holy Hour and meditation books available. Sally and Vitale (301-627-6050) Altar Servers: Young people from fourth grade through high school serve regularly at parish Masses. Contact the rectory (301-627-3255) for joining and training. THE ELIJAH CUP The purpose of the Elijah Cup is to provide a focal point for praying for vocations. A consecrated chalice travels from home to home allowing individuals and families to gather and pray for vocations. If we pray with the faith of the widow Zarapeth (1 Kings 17), our cup will never run dry! We will always have priests to bring us Jesus in the Eucharist. Sign up sheets are located at the back of the church. All are welcome to take the chalice home for a week to pray for vocations. Contact Sally Vitale for further information 301-627-6050.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word: This program is geared for children between the ages of 4 and 7. Gathering in the Parish Hall before the 9:30 AM Mass, the Gospel and other readings are discussed at the children’s level. Volunteers are needed. There are bimonthly meetings and a volunteer schedule. Call Kelly Pasciuto (301 249-6935)
Children’s Mass: The third Sunday of each month, instead of the Children’s Liturgy of the Word, we have a Mass at 9:30 AM that seeks to speak more directly to our young people
